Room 28 News




I was very happy to see so many of you at our Open House. 

Reading:  We are working on beginning sounds, ending sounds, and short vowel sounds.  The class has finished the first half of their reading book.

Writing:  The students are making lists using inventive spelling.  They are writing telling sentences, remembering to start the sentence with a capital letter and ending the sentence with a period.

Math:  Students are playing math games that help them learn the concepts of greater than and less than, extending patterns, and solving reading problems using pictures, numbers and/or words.

Social Studies:  Students are learning about responsibilities, rights as a citizen, rules we need to stay safe.

Science:  We have finished our study on solids, we are now exploring liquids.

Homework: 

Work on words in wordbanks every night.  The wordbanks do not go home on Fridays.

Please make sure your child puts his or her name on homework.

9/18:  Math homework.  Color spaces that have 9 dots.

9/19:  Open House, no homework.

9/20:  Color short a pictures.

9/21:  Addition paper.
